My blog at MyQute.com is suspended today Nov 11th 2008 (after just 2 months of hosting - details below). Not gonna name them - I don't give free publicity for those who don't give good support - but I know you wanna know so I'll let you in - they start with ASS "S" and end with an "L.com". The webhoster in question said that it was a "gross misconduct" (on my part) to overuse CPU resources - that's a very nice way of explaining things!
I hope my site does not drop to page rank 0! >,< Stay tuned when my site returns!
I had 5gigs webhosting (was hosting about 500mb of stuff) and 15 gigs bandwidth. Paid webhosting. Never thought I'd have a problem with hosting cos they recently suspended my blog (ranking 3 going on 4).
The ironic thing is, they also have free hosting!! So am i going to sign up for a free hosting account with them? I don't think so. If they can't give good support for paying customers, what makes them good support for freeloaders?
Here's my email to them:
Thank you for your reply! Under what circumstances would cost "high amount of cpu continously for more than 20 minutes" so I would be able to prevent this from happening again? Does it mean:
1. Having visitors to the site continiously for more than 20 minutes?
2. Being signed into my own control panel for more than 20 minutes?
3. Resources (files and such) downloaded from site for more than 20 minutes?
Please understand I have been with 3 other PAID webhosting services (for older domains) and usage was as usual - none of them told me that I was using cpu continiously for more than 20 minutes, you're the first.
"The suspension will be revoked for now but it should come to you as a last warning as the system will automatically terminate the account the next time your website crosses any limits mentioned in out terms of service."
Next time? Last warning? This doesn't make sense - my site isn't back yet - I take it as REVOKED forever.
Okie, I have to give them credit for replying within 6 hours of my email! lol
May be I should get my own dedicated server for hosting? What do you think?
My other alternative is to buy a static LAN ip addy (much cheaper than my broadband service) and host my site directly from my computer. That means I have to install Linux on my pc too.
Yeah...I'll be on a lookout for other options. I've hosted with to Mister.net before - they give pretty good webhosting service but they have a fixed 200mb hosting and I need more than that.
